Assistant Coach for Women's Basketball and Residence Hall Supervisor

Moberly Area Community College is looking for an Assistant Women's Basketball Coach/Residence Hall Supervisor to help shape the next generation of Greyhounds—both on the court and across campus.

This is more than a coaching position. You'll mentor student-athletes, assist with recruiting and player development, help create a positive campus living experience, and make a lasting impact on students' college journeys.

Qualifications:

Applicants for this position must hold a Bachelor's degree, with previous coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred. A demonstrated proficiency in basketball fundamentals, strategies, and coaching techniques is essential. Additionally, candidates with experience in a residential life setting or student affairs role are highly desirable. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial for building rapport and fostering positive relationships with students, staff, and faculty. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required. The ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment while effectively managing multiple priorities is essential.

Job Responsibilities:
The Women’s Assistant Basketball Coach/Residence Hall Supervisor shall:
  1. Assist the head coach in all aspects of the basketball program, including planning, organizing, and conducting practices.
  2. Provide skill development sessions and tactical training to student-athletes.
  3. Assist with game preparation, strategy development, and in-game coaching.
  4. Support the recruitment efforts by identifying and evaluating prospective student-athletes.
  5. Foster a culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and academic excellence among players.
  6. Monitor academic progress of the players;
  7. Assist with study halls;
  8. Adhere to policies and regulations as outlined in Policy Handbook;
  9. Obtain a CDL driver's license as needed;
  10. Reside in the residence hall on a full-time basis and abide by the rules and regulations as outlined in the Moberly Area Community College Housing Handbook;
  11. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the assigned residence hall, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive living environment for students.
  12. Assist the Coordinator of Residence Life with residence hall programming and events to enhance the overall student experience and foster a sense of belonging;
  13. Address student concerns, conduct disciplinary actions when necessary, and enforce college policies and procedures.
  14. Serve as a resource and advocate for students, offering guidance on academic, personal, and social matters.
  15. Assist with the beginning and end of semester/year activities of the residence halls in cooperation with Student Affairs;
  16. Communicate with the Director of Security & Residential Life any known dates or times you will be absent from the residence hall on weekends, holidays, and college breaks;
  17. Report any violations of the Housing Handbook policy to the Director of Security & Residential Life and Dean of Student Affairs and Enrollment Management.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.
