PRESIDENT OF INNOVATIVE AND ONLINE LEARNING
Metropolitan Community College, Kansas City, Missouri (MCCKC) seeks recommendations, nominations and applications for the position of the President of Innovative and Online Learning. This newly created position provides strategic leadership for On-line education across all five MCCKC campuses as well as maintains the visionary direction for overall Innovative and On-line learning.
MCCKC operates as one college with five campuses and other educational sites, under the leadership of Chancellor Kimberly Beatty, now serving in her eighth year at the College. MCCKC is one of the largest public education providers in the area, serving almost 18,000 unduplicated credit students annually and offering over 120 associate degree and certificate programs, on campus, online, or a combination of both. From its early days and humble beginnings, MCCKC has consistently focused on positive change and growth to provide students and the community growth through education. MCCKC has been accredited as a single entity by the Higher Learning Commission since 1986, and the College’s next reaffirmation of accreditation is in October 2025. In addition, many of MCCKC’s academic programs are individually accredited.
The President of Innovation & Online Learning is a senior executive role reporting to the Chancellor. The role is responsible for advancing MCC's global strategy, fostering innovation, and aligning the Online Campus with local, national and global educational needs. This position is pivotal in driving comprehensive online strategy to support MCC’s mission of preparing students, serving communities, and creating opportunities for all. This position will oversee a dedicated operational budget and provide visionary leadership for the Online Campus that will expand and enhance the current Campus’ virtual footprint.
To be successful in this role, the President will be a strong relationship-builder, have a future-forward orientation for online learning and technologies, be able to thrive in a matrix style organizational structure, flexible and adaptable to change, energetic, resilient and committed to the mission of community colleges. They will also be experienced in motivating faculty, employees and students with an inspirational vision and commitment to advancing the On-line strategic direction, in concert with district-level goals and partnership with the Executive Cabinet, for the Metropolitan Community College of Kanas City. The President reports to the Chancellor, serves on the College’s senior leadership team (i.e., Executive Cabinet), and collaborates across the College to achieve the goals of MCCKC Reimagined 2031.
