Position Summary: The Director of the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Grant is responsible for the organization, planning, implementation, continuous review, and analysis of the College’s TRIO SSS Grant. The Director provides academic leadership, serves as an integral member of the College and Campus administrative teams, and works closely with the Associate Deans, Navigator Managers, and Coordinator of Testing. Position is contingent upon continued grant funding per the Department of Education.
Examples of Essential Functions and Duties:
• Facilitates the development and implementation of all aspects of the grant
• Administers and manages the TRIO SSS grant budget, in accordance with College policy and accordance with College policy and in compliance with requirements and regulations of the funding agency
• Hires, supervises, evaluates both full-time and part-time personnel for the program
• Coordinates and oversees timely implementation of strategies to achieve SSS goals and objectives
• Communicates project goals and objectives to College community, campus administrators, faculty, and students
• Ensures widespread dissemination of project information to potential participants
• Develops and implements continual assessment plan to insure monitoring of project goals and objectives and student performance
• Works in collaboration with the Navigators, Associate Deans, faculty, and other members of the academic community
• Serves on campus and college-wide committees
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Submits Annual Performance Report to the Department of Education by deadline.
• Ensures population served meets Department of Education criteria.
• Works with IT to maintain database for accurate data collection.
• Completes annual performance report for SFCC each year.

• Knowledge of grant management including budget, personnel management and reporting
• Knowledge of Microsoft office software and specific computer programs related to area of responsibility
• Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to effectively present information to groups of administrators, faculty, students, and the community
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data for the purpose of reporting, while maintaining confidentiality
• Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data for the purpose of reporting, while maintaining confidentially
• Ability to foster a welcoming academic environment with diverse student population
• Shared background or demonstrated ability to relate to SSS student population
Qualifications:
- Experience –3+ years of experience designing, managing or implementing college preparatory programs. One year experience working directly with TRIO programs OR working with low-income, first-generation, at-risk students, students from diverse backgrounds, or students with disabilities. Supervisory experience and knowledge of student development theories.
- Education – Master’s degree in education, counseling, program administration, or other related field OR Bachelor’s degree and four years of experience managing or implementing college preparatory/access programs.
- Needed Skills – Strong computer skills, ability to communicate effectively both written and oral, presentation skills, ability to supervise and work with diverse population.

Standard Work Schedule: Monday –Friday, 8 am-5 pm, some late nights and weekends may be required
Travel Requirements: The TRiO Director may chaperone students on campus visits or cultural enrichment activities that require overnight travel. Professional development activities may also include overnight travel.
